From massive salt pans to feral camels and wild flowers that can only be found in this part of the world, it is a photographer's dream. A challenge that will leave you with a deep sense of achievement and satisfaction when you reach the famous Poeppel Corner where Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory meet, then onto the finish point at Birdsville.

You might say why the Simpson Desert, quite simply it’s the toughest and harshest terrain in Australia that can be accessed and backed up.

Our staff have the necessary knowledge and expertise; medical, mechanical, communications, camp cooking and extensive bush experience.

Who am I.. Paddy McHugh…I have spent 40 years living and working across Australia in some of the most inhospitable places on the planet. I led a team of 5 in the 1988 Great Australian camel race, the longest endurance race in the world, Uluru to the Gold Coast 3,300km. Amongst many other things I have retraced explores and walked across the Simpson Desert numerous times.

The concept for this event evolved after many years of walking and travelling through the deserts and the outback of Australia.

After witnessing the need and demand for such a challenge, I am setting in place something that will cater to just that.
